Our freehand piercing artists are Erika Gomez and Micah Greenlay.
Forceps are not used in any procedures, resulting in a less traumatic piercing. Only the best jewelry is stocked at Tatu Tattoo, internally threaded, titanium jewelry. This means two very important things.
Titanium Jewelry
- Titanium is implant grade material, which means you cannot have a reaction to the jewelry. Substandard metals can cause irritation and skin discoloration.
Internal threading
- Internal threading is also the best type of threading. External threads tear tissue every time they go in or out of your piercing and can dramatically increase chances of scaring. Also external threads collect body fluid that can cause infection.
Tatu Tattoo is also very aware of how important it is to be hygienic when doing a piercing. Because of this we employ the use of a STATIM 2000. This is one of the most up to date methods of sterilization available to the piercing industry.
The STATIM Cassette Autoclave has set the worldwide standard against which all sterilizers are judged. This unit is designed for the efficient, economical and rapid stream sterilization of medical and surgical instrumentation.
What does this mean if you are pierced at Tatu Tattoo?
This means that all materials used for your piercing are sterilized as you walk in the piercing room. Not sitting in sterilization pouches for days, weeks or months at a time, which can compromise sterility. Yes, you will have to wait 15 minutes, but you should feel confident that your procedure is going to be one of the cleanest and safest that you can receive.
